In The Heart of Decatur
In the middle of downtown Decatur, Ga, a suburb of Atlanta, is Alexan 1133 luxury apartments. It’s near Emory University, Agnes Scott College, DeKalb County Public Library and several restaurants and pubs.
If you are a student, one place to become familiar with is the local coffee shop. Dancing Goats Coffee Bar is less than half a mile away. This place offers espresso beverages, locally-made doughnuts and a manual brew bar with single origin coffees and free WiFi. The name of this coffee shop is derived from an Ethiopian 9th century legend. This goatherd saw his goats were dancing and prancing after eating red berries from a shrub. He decided to try it and was dancing too. And that is how coffee was discovered.
Also less than half a mile away is Brick Store Pub which opened in 1997. This is a neighborhood pub where, according to their website, “conversation dominates, pints are served properly and in the appropriate glassware, service is friendly and knowledgeable and the food is made from scratch every day.” This pub has no television and no major domestic beers. They rotate the variety they sell and currently have 29 draught beers and 75 bottled ones. Some on the list of local draught include Three Taverns A Night On Ponce American IPA, Sweetwater Hop Hash Imperial IPA and Wild Heaven Nitrode to Mercy Imperial Brown. Menu items include sandwiches, burgers, salads, fish and chips, cast iron pot pie and steak.
So, whether you want to study at a coffee shop, or celebrate after passing a test, your home at Alexan 1133 is walking distance to both.
